The Valletta at Copper Rock: Luxury Interior Design

YEAR
2021
CLIENT
Richardson Brothers

Lara Penrod Smith contributed interior design to The Valletta, a luxury vacation home featured in the 2021 Parade of Homes. Located on Copper Rock Golf Course in Hurricane, Utah, this modern retreat features stunning views, resort-style living, and a calm, neutral palette perfect for relaxing, gathering, and entertaining.

A Parade of Homes Showstopper

Located on the Copper Rock Golf Course in Hurricane, Utah, The Valletta is a contemporary vacation home that truly captures the spirit of modern desert living. Built by Richardson Brothers and featured in the 2021 St. George Parade of Homes, this project was all about clean lines, open spaces, and maximizing the stunning natural views Southern Utah has to offer.

Our Role: Interior Design with Purpose

At Raptor Design and Build, we were brought on to help with every detail of the interior design—from tile and lighting selections to the overall style direction. The home was beautifully staged by BLVD Home, and together, we created a cohesive look that feels modern, welcoming, and built for relaxation.

Indoor-Outdoor Living with Stunning Views

One of the most unforgettable parts of The Valletta is how well it blends indoor and outdoor living. With expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, you’re constantly connected to the landscape—whether it's the championship 18-hole golf course, the iconic Mollie’s Nipple mountain, or a fiery Southern Utah sunset.

The home is designed with four master suites, each like its own mini-retreat, making it perfect for groups or vacation rental guests. Everything about the layout says "come stay awhile."

A Resort-Style Pool for Gathering and Relaxing

The lower level features a resort-style swimming pool framed by fire features and cascading water walls. This outdoor space runs the full length of the home’s lower living area, creating a dreamy space to hang out, entertain, or simply unwind.

Design Lessons: Falling in Love with Neutrals

This project also shifted my personal design style. I learned to truly love neutrals—letting texture, tone, and natural materials do the talking. We brought in color with accessories and soft furnishings, which added just the right amount of personality without overpowering the peaceful vibe of the home.

Final Thoughts: A Home Designed to Be Experienced

The Valletta is more than just a vacation home—it’s a retreat. A place where modern architecture meets the natural beauty of Southern Utah. It was a joy to be a part of this project and help create a space where people can gather, relax, and make lasting memories.
